Source:E.coliLungkine is a CXC chemokine that is expressed in lung epithelial cells and, to a lesser extent, in certain fetal tissues. No human homolog has been identified, and a specific cell surface receptor has not yet been found. Lungkine expression in lung tissue is elevated in response to inflammation, at which time it acts to specifically recruit neutrophils and direct them into the lung airway. Recombinant Murine Lungkine is a 16.3 kDa CXC chemokine consisting of 142 amino acid residues, including four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines.
Determined by its ability to chemoattract human neutrophils using a concentration range of 20.0-100.0 ng/ml.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic/therapeutics procedures.
