Recombinant Human Platelet-derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Gln24-Glu524 is expressed with a 6His at the C-terminus. Platelet-derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha (PDGF R alpha ) is an enzyme that belongs to the class III subfamily of receptor tyrosine kinases. It is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein, and can form homo- or hetero-dimeric receptors when engaged by dimers of the PDGF family of growth factors, PDGF R alpha is strongly expressed in oligodendrocyte, lung, skin and intestinal progenitor cells and induced by inflammation or growth in culture, but is lowly expressed in most mesenchymal cells. PDGF R alpha autophosphorylates upon dimerization, activating signaling cascades in PI-3kinase Ras-MAP kinase, and PLC- gamma pathways. PDGF R alpha has infulence on local gradients of epithelially produced PDGF-AA or PDGF-CC during formation of the cranial ,cardiac neural crest and interstitial kidney mesenchyme.

Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 µg/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in ddH2O. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles.
Endotoxin : Less than 0.1 ng/µg (1 IEU/µg) as determined by LAL test.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic/therapeutics procedures.

Subcellular location: Cell membrane
Post transnational modification: Autophosphorylated on tyrosine residues upon ligand binding. Autophosphorylation occurs in trans, i.e. one subunit of the dimeric receptor phosphorylates tyrosine residues on the other subunit. Phosphorylation at Tyr-731 and Tyr-742 is important for interaction with PIK3R1. Phosphorylation at Tyr-720 and Tyr-754 is important for interaction with PTPN11. Phosphorylation at Tyr-762 is important for interaction with CRK. Phosphorylation at Tyr-572 and Tyr-574 is important for interaction with SRC and SRC family members. Phosphorylation at Tyr-988 and Tyr-1018 is important for interaction with PLCG1.
Tissue Specificity: Detected in platelets (at protein level). Widely expressed. Detected in brain, fibroblasts, smooth muscle, heart, and embryo. Expressed in primary and metastatic colon tumors and in normal colon tissue.
BioGrid: 111182. 62 interactions.
