LEFTY1 Human Recombinant produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a total molecular weight of 38kDa.The LEFTY1 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Left-Right Determination Factor 1 (LEFTY1) belongs to the TGF-beta family of proteins. LEFTY1 is required for left-right axis determination as a regulator of LEFTY2 and NODAL. An analogous secreted protein in mouse has a role in left-right asymmetry determination of organ systems during development. The LEFTY1 gene is closely linked to both a related family member and a related pseudogene.
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized LEFTY1 in sterile water not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. The specific activity was determined by dose dependent ability to inhibit BMP-4 (6.5 ng/mL) induction of alkaline phosphatase production in the MC-3T3-E1 cell line (Mouse chondrogenic cell line) and is typically 10-40ng/ml.
