Recombinant Human PRKAR1A is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Glu2-Val381 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus. cAMP-dependent protein kinase type I-alpha regulatory subunit is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PRKAR1A gene. cAMP is a signaling molecule important for a variety of cellular functions. cAMP exerts its effects by activating the cAMP-dependent protein kinase A (PKA), which transduces the signal through phosphorylationof different target proteins. Four different regulatory subunits and three catalytic subunits of PKA have been identified in humans. The protein encoded by this gene is one of the regulatory subunits. This protein was found to be a tissue-specific extinguisher that down-regulates the expression of seven liver genes in hepatoma x fibroblast hybrids.

Endotoxin : Less than 0.1 ng/µg (1 IEU/µg) as determined by LAL test.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic/therapeutics procedures.

Subcellular location: Cell membrane
Post transnational modification: The pseudophosphorylation site binds to the substrate-binding region of the catalytic chain, resulting in the inhibition of its activity.
Tissue Specificity: Four types of regulatory chains are found: I-alpha, I-beta, II-alpha, and II-beta. Their expression varies among tissues and is in some cases constitutive and in others inducible.
BioGrid: 111559. 88 interactions.
