Source : Saccharomyces cerevisae. HBsAg subtype adw2 Recombinant produced in Saccharomyces cerevisae. is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain. HBsAg migrates on SDS-PAGE as a 24 kDa monomer band with small amounts of dimer (48 kDa) and trimer (72 kDa) forms. The HBsAg is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. HBsAg is the surface antigen of the Hepatitis-B-Virus (HBV). The capsid of a virus has different surface proteins from the rest of the virus. The antigen is a protein that binds specifically on one of these surface proteins. It is commonly referred to as the Australian Antigen.
