Histone H4 is a core component of nucleosome. It facilitates nucleosome wrapping and DNA compacting into chromatin, thereby limiting the DNAs accessibility to the cellular machineries for which DNA is required as a template. Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair / replication and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications of histones, of which the process is called the histone code, and nucleosome remodeling. Rabbit Anti-Histone H4 (Acetyl-K12) Polyclonal Antibody is developed in rabbit using a KLH-coupled synthetic acetylpeptide corresponding to residues surrounding Lys12 of human Histone H4 (Swiss Prot: Q99525).
