Source : Escherichia Coli. PRKRA Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 336 amino acids (1-313a.a) and having a molecular mass of 36.8kDa.PRKRA is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Protein Kinase IFN Double Stranded RNA Activator, also known as PRKRA, mediates the effects of interferon when a viral infection takes place. PRKRA activates EIF2AK2/PKR in the absence of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and leads to phosphorylation of EIF2S1/EFI2-alpha and inhibition of translation and induction of apoptosis. Mutations in PRKRA are associated with dystonia.
