RANTES is a chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T helper cells, and eosinophils. It causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils and binds to CCR1, CCR3, CCR4, and CCR5. It is also one of the major HIV suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T cells. Recombinant RANTES protein induces a dose dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV HIV 2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV). Induced by mitogens, it is T cell and macrophage specific and belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family. Human RANTES Antibody (1E11E6), mAb, Mouse is produced from the hybridoma resulting from fusion of Sp2/0 myeloma and lymphocytes obtained from mouse immunized with purified full length recombinant human RANTES protein (Swiss Prot: P13501).
