The B122 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with the precursor and mature secreted forms of mouse IL-1 Beta and is cross-reactive with rat IL-1 Beta. IL-1 Alpha and IL-1 Beta are recognized by the same cell surface receptor but are generated from distinct genes. The B122 antibody is reported to neutralize the bioactivity of natural or recombinant IL-1 Beta.
The antibody has been analyzed for quality through the flow cytometric analysis of the relevant cell type. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
