The Eat-2 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD81, a 26 kDa non-glycosylated transmembrane protein. CD81 is expressed broadly on B cells, T cells, NK cells, dendritic cells, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells. It plays a role in T cell development and is involved in B and T cell adhesion. The Eat-2 antibody is also reported to cross-react with the rat CD81 antigen.
The antibody has been analyzed for quality through the flow cytometric analysis of the relevant cell type. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
