This MAb is specific to ER alpha and shows minimal cross-reaction with other members of the family. ER is an important regulator of growth and differentiation in the mammary gland. Presence of ER in breast tumors indicates an increased likelihood of response to anti-estrogen (e.g. tamoxifen) therapy. It strongly stains nuclei of epithelial cells in breast carcinomas.

Flow Cytometry (5ul per test per one million cells or 5ul per 100ul of whole blood);,Immunofluorescence (1:50-1:100 for 30 minutes at RT);,

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic/therapeutics procedures.

Subcellular location: Nucleus, Golgi apparatus, Cell membrane
Post transnational modification: Palmitoylated by ZDHHC7 and ZDHHC21. Palmitoylation is required for plasma membrane targeting and for rapid intracellular signaling via ERK and AKT kinases and cAMP generation, but not for signaling mediated by the nuclear hormone receptor.
Tissue Specificity: Widely expressed. Isoform 3 is not expressed in the pituitary gland.
