Monoclonal Antibody to DCX Doublecortin (Clone: 3E1)
Figure-1: Immunofluorescent analysis of cortical neuron-glial cell culture from E20 rat stained with mouse mAb to doublecortin, (34-1028), dilution 1:1,000 in red, and costained with chicken pAb to microtubule associated protein 2 (MAP2),(34-1064), dilution 1:10,000 in green. The blue is DAPI staining of nuclear DNA. The doublecortin antibody reveals strong cytoplasmic staining in a population of small developing neurons and their processes, while the MAP2 antibody stains dendrites and perikarya of mature neurons. Doublecortin antibody is an excellent marker of early developing neuronal cells.

Format : | Purified |
Amount : | 100 µl |
Isotype : | Mouse, IgG2a |
Content : | Antibody is supplied as an aliquot of 1 mg/ml of affinity purified antibody or concentrated tissue culture supernatant. |
Storage condition : | Store the antibody at 4°C; stable for 6 months. For long-term storage; store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles. |
WB: 1:1,000. IF/ICC and IHC: 1:1,000.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic/therapeutics procedures.
Subcellular location: | Cytoplasm, Cell projection |
Post transnational modification: | Ubiquitinated by MDM2, leading to its degradation by the proteasome. Ubiquitinated by MDM2 and subsequent degradation leads to reduce the dendritic spine density of olfactory bulb granule cells. |
Tissue Specificity: | Highly expressed in neuronal cells of fetal brain (in the majority of cells of the cortical plate, intermediate zone and ventricular zone), but not expressed in other fetal tissues. In the adult, highly expressed in the brain frontal lobe, but very low expression in other regions of brain, and not detected in heart, placenta, lung, liver, skeletal muscles, kidney and pancreas. |
