Source : E.coli. GREM2 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 170 amino acids (22-168) and having a molecular mass of 19kDa. GREM2 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. GREM2 which is a member of the BMP (bone morphogenic protein) antagonist family takes part in regulating organogenesis, body patterning, and tissue differentiation. GREM2 is an antagonist of BMP and like BMPs, BMP antagonists contain cystine knots and typically form homo- and heterodimers. The CAN (cerberus and dan) subfamily of BMP antagonists, is characterized by a C-terminal cystine knot with an 8-membered ring.
