Biological Activitynull
CD9 which is found on the surface of exosomes is a cell surface glycoprotein which interacts with integrins and various transmembrane superfamily proteins. CD9 is involved in platelet activation and aggregation and also regulates paranodal junction formation. CD9 takes part in cell adhesion and migration and also promotes muscle cell fusion. CD9 is necessary for the egg-sperm fusion during mammalian fertilization.
CD9 produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 326 amino acids (112-195a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 36.9kDa.CD9 is expressed with a 239 amino acid hIgG-His-Tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
