Alternative Name : Complement Component 9, ARMD15, C9D, Complement Component C9.
Source : Escherichia Coli. C9 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 561 amino acids (22-559 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 63.4kDa.C9 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Complement Component 9 also known as C9 is the final component of the complement system. C9 plays a part in the formation of the Membrane Attack Complex (MAC). The MAC gathers on bacterial membranes to form a pore, permitting disruption of bacterial membrane organization. Component C9 deficiency is caused by mutations in this gene. Among the diseases associated with C9 are c9 deficiency, and primary amebic meningoencephalitis.
