Annexin A1 is a member of the annexin family that can bind to cellular membranes in a calcium-dependent manner, promoting membrane fusion and endocytosis. Annexin A1 is found in the cytoplasm, on the cell surface, and in the extracellular fluid. Annexin A1 has anti-inflammatory activities and inhibits phospholipase A2 function.
